Radiation from CT scans done in 2007 will cause 29,000 cancers and kill nearly 15,000 Americans, researchers said on Monday.
The findings, published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, add to mounting evidence that Americans are overexposed to radiation from diagnostic tests, especially from a specialized kind of X-ray called a computed tomography, or CT, scan.

Try to avoid CT scans if at all possible. If a scan is recommended by a doctor, get a 2nd or 3rd opinion. It is possible that your doctor owns or has an investment in the location that does the scanning.
If you must undergo a CAT Scan or have undergone one recently, overload yourself with antioxidants. THey will help protect you from cancer and death from free radicals. Use Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamins E D and C. Check with your alternative health provider, chiropractor, naturopath etc. Tell them you need highest safe doses to ward off radiation exposure.
