Conquer Oxidative Stress With Antioxidants!

Oxidative stress describes a body or system overwhelmed by free radicals. Free radicals are dangerous chemicals waste products that attack and overwhelm normal cells, destroying them or damaging them, keeping them from carrying out their regular duties and turning them into free radicals. This sets up a chain reaction of damage to tissues and organs.

Free radicals are a natural result of burning oxygen and sugar to fuel the body. They are also introduced into the body by diet, especially fried foods and processed foods as well as by cigarette smoke and environmental pollutants. Chronic illnesses such as diabetes also result in higher levels of free radicals, And believe it or not, they are also produced in the body by worry and negative thoughts! Depression is a Big source of free radicals!

The body produces natural anti oxidants to protect against free radicals and theoretically they can be obtained from food. However the depleted state of the soil, genetic modification and long storage times mean that only a fraction of the antioxidants theoreticall present in foods is still there.

Free radicals are extremely dangerous, attacking the cell walls, protein structures within the cells and even the DNA of the cell. When the DNA is targeted, the damaged cell replicates itself, damage and all. Many times this results in the cell becoming cancerous.

Free radicals can also activate dormant, bad genes, resulting in triggering autoimmune diseases such as Type 1 diabetes, lupus etc.

People with chronic diseases typically are overwhelmed with free radicals, giving rise to what is known as Oxidative Stress. This term is too benign. Free radicals are what destroys the body, causing death from radiation exposure.

Free radicals attack and destroy the cardiovascular and nervous systems. They are a principal cause of diabetic complications such as amputations, liver and kidney failure and heart attacks which kill 70-80% of diabetics 10-15 years short of their normal lifespan, even though they control their blood sugar.

Dr Lester Packer, the world's foremost authority on free radicals and antioxidants puts it very simply, low levels of antioxidants in the body leads to death. Most people, especially those with chronic diseases need help in reinforcing their body's antioxidant levels.

You can eat an antioxidant rich diet, mainly vegetables, especially brightly colored ones; however because of he depletion of the nutrition in the soil these days, you will also need to take more aggressive actions.

Vitamins C and E, Co-Q 10 and Alpha Lipoic Acid are nutritional supplements recommended by Dr Packer.

However the most powerful antioxidants you can take come from Ionized, Alkaline water. This water is produced by electrolysis and is 100 times more powerful than the supplements. This is what you want to boost your antioxidants in a hurry and to keep the levels high. Dr Peggy Parker is a world renowned expert on fighting free radicals with Ionized, Alkaline water.

Another advantage of this water is that it helps return your body to a normal Ph as most of us are overacidic, again as a result of diet and lifestyle. Disease producing viruses and other microbes thrive in an acidic environment.

The water eliminates over acidity or acidosis. Dr Leigh Erin Connealy is an expert in eliminating acidosis from the body.
